The Marsaudon Office of Historical Research & Genealogical Study was established in Avignon in Vaucluse on July 12th 1999.

Olivier Marsaudon was born in 1971 in Limoges in the Limousin. A historian by training, he first studies genealogy as a hobby, before becoming a professional genealogist.

After his higher studies in history, he obtained in 1995 his masters degree on the Languedoc, an XVIIIth century 80 guns ship of the Line.

During his military service as midshipman at the Service Historique de la Marine, he compiled and presented his post-graduate Diploma in Military History and Defense on the French-British Naval Relations 1943-1963. His study gave him a good knowledge of the archives of the French Navy, as well as those of the Royal Navy.
